Latest about Man City’s interest in Celtic hero Kyogo

For many fans, Kyogo Furuhashi’s announcement of his departure from Celtic this week came as a shock.

It’s common knowledge that the Japanese forward is among the greatest players in Scotland at the moment and one of Celtic’s most acclaimed and thrilling performers.

The Scottish champions haven’t had to turn down any significant transfer proposals for him up to this point, though. The idea that Yogo is getting close to 30 and might not be a terrific value for teams that appreciate his talent has provided some solace.

So curiosity about what Celtic may have in store at the end of this summer transfer window was definitely aroused by the news that Manchester City was interested in the player joining.

Man City may view Kyogo of Celtic as a “temporary solution.”

It seems like a startling transfer link at first. With more resources than any other club in the UK, City is a massive operation these days. Was their true target the Scottish Premiership?

There is a hypothesis behind the possible trade, though, as transfer journalist David Ornstein clarified to Jamie Carragher on Monday.

Ornstein stated to The Overlap that “they might look to do one more.” To support Erling Haaland, it might be a wide player or someone else who can play wide and up front.

They and the Celtic forward have been connected. Although they have him as one of their choices, I don’t think they’ve decided who they would pursue, if they will pursue anyone at all.

“The ideal player must be willing to take on a supporting role to Haaland or the current group of wingers if necessary. It’s not an easy process, that.

Man City just needs to focus on Ilkay Gundogan and maybe one other player right now. The Celtic player is also older; at this point, City may be using a few stopgap options to get them through till further notice.

A truly fascinating time is about to begin. Next summer, Pep Guardiola’s contract will expire, and a number of players, including Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne, are maturing to the point where it’s possible they’ll move on. Thus, it’s an interesting moment there.

Celtic won’t give Kyogo away for peanuts.

Celtic is aware of the striker’s significance to the starting lineup. Over the last three seasons, his 73 goals in 135 appearances—including a brace versus Rangers—have been important in the team’s success.

They won’t let him go for cheap, and a possible departure would have to meet their high threshold of over £20 million, according to their alleged Yogo valuation. City will have to pay a premium for a player who turns 30 in January if they want him.

Who knows? Despite the English club’s financial resources, Celtic might just be able to turn this interest down. For that, the majority of Bhoys fans will be crossing their fingers.

Following the revelation of their interest in Sheffield United defender Auston Trusty, Celtic found themselves at the focus of two fascinating occurrences yesterday.

Just one year after the £5 million player from the United States joined the Blades from Arsenal, the Bhoys are eager to get him north of the border.

Additionally, Mikey Johnston and Sheffield United are in negotiations. Should Johnston decide to transfer to the Sky Bet Championship, he may get the opportunity to play where he excelled last season.

It will be interesting to observe how negotiations progress on both sides and whether either deal can be completed with only one week left in the window. Although there have been rumours that Johnson was used as a makeweight, it is more likely that the transactions would be completed independently.

In any case, Sheffield United and Celtic may be ready to do some advantageous business to improve their respective squads for the upcoming campaign.

Celtic and its potential as a wise business move

It’s unclear if Celtic has always had an eye on Trusty or if they just happened to come across him in the closing moments of the window.

In other words, it’s not that important. The Bhoys have made it a top priority to bring in a central defender in order to compete for a starting position with Cameron Carter-Vickers.

More people are realising they need to bolster their defence. A new player can now join the team as a result of Yuki Kobayashi leaving for Portimonense and Gustav Lagerbielke getting closer to leaving on loan.
