Ipswich Town ‘Quite Advanced’ With Raid On Sunderland For Jack Clarke

The team led by Kieran McKenna is working hard to sign Clarke before the transfer window shuts at the end of the next week.

To test Sunderland’s determination, they have put in a £15 million bid, and rumors have it that the Black Cats are taking it under consideration.

The move might go even farther, though, since it’s now being reported that discussions over Clarke moving to Portman Road are “quite advanced.”

Ipswich is willing to pay a premium to acquire the winger because they are certain he can perform in the Premier League.

Given that Clarke has two years remaining on his contract, Sunderland may find that selling him this summer will maximize his value.

But Regis Le Bris would lose a vital offensive weapon in that situation, and there wouldn’t be much time to find a replacement.

Although Clarke is admired by Southampton and Leeds United as well, Ipswich is clearly in the lead.
