NEWS UPDATES: Dembélé: I enjoyed that!

This weekend, KADER Dembélé made a memorable debut for QPR as we overcame a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 at Sheffield United. Following the game, he said, “I enjoyed that!”

The 21-year-old winger began his recuperation when Jimmy Dunne headed in a corner he created in the second half. The player had joined Rangers on loan from French Ligue 1 side Brest at the beginning of the week.

On minute 88, Lyndon Dykes stroked home the equalizer to complete a fantastic away point.

Dembélé became an instant favorite among the traveling R’s supporters thanks to his cunning and inventiveness, and he later said, “I always like getting on the ball.” I like the game more and have more influence over it the more I get on the ball.

“Obviously, you would prefer to get off to a stronger start than we did because it puts you in a better position, but the boys displayed incredible character in the second half.”

Not that he saw the opposition that way, but Dembélé was a regular threat against a Blades team that was playing in the Premier League after a brilliant season with Blackpool in League One the previous year.

Since we are all in the same league, he admitted, “I didn’t really think about it; I just saw it as another team.”

“They weren’t in the Premier League or played in the Premier League, in my opinion. We can compete because we are both championship teams.

We can actually compete with any team in this level if we all have the same belief. This was a glaring illustration of it.

The lads entered at halftime, and we all had a conversation and an open discussion. The response we received was excellent.

Over 1,200 supporters of the R’s traveled to Sheffield, supporting the side in both good and bad times. The new QPR No. 7 was cognizant of this.

He remarked, “I thought the atmosphere was great.”

“With those supporters by our side, we can conquer the world. I hope they can keep doing that anytime we run into difficult circumstances.
