QPR may be having serious regrets over Marti Cifuentes decision: View

The R’s looked like they were going to have a good season after doing well under Marti Cifuentes for most of the 2023–24 season after Gareth Ainsworth left.

Few people thought that QPR would already be in a big fight to stay in the league, since they had a manager who seemed to be good at his job, kept some of their best players, and added some smart players over the summer.

Cardiff City beat their opponents badly in a 12:30 p.m. game on Saturday, moving them off the bottom of the table. This put pressure on QPR and Pompey to get a win at Loftus Road.

As the game began, the R’s played well, but Karamoko Dembele scored for the home team in the ninth minute because of some shakiness at the back.

The great lob he made looked like it would put Cifuentes’ team in a good position to win the game against a team that hadn’t won a league game all season.

But Pompey showed a lot of spirit and reacted well. Freddie Potts scored an equalizer in the 18th minute.

Three goals were scored because of bad defense. Morgan Fox gave up a penalty because he wasn’t paying attention just before the hour mark.

The penalty kick by Callum Lang was good, and the away team was able to hold on to the lead and get all three points.

The R’s are now at the bottom of the Championship table because of this result, and the club may be beginning to rethink a choice they made not long ago.
