Rangers conspiracy emerges after Hampden defeat to Celtic – ‘Cannot be a coincidence….

Derek Ferguson does not believe it is a coincidence that so many decisions have been going against Rangers in Old Firm clashes.

Rangers were beaten 3-1 by Celtic on Sunday as their Premier Sports Cup campaign was ended at the semi-final stage.

James Tavernier’s penalty cancelled out Johnny Kenny’s opener after Thelo Aasgaard was – rightly – sent off for a poor challenge as the game went to extra-time.

Rangers were angry that Anthony Ralston was not sent off for a second yellow card for his part in conceding that penalty.

There was also anger when Auston Trusty avoided a red card for catching Jack Butland in what looked a nailed-on red card at the time.

Rangers have since made an official complaint to the SFA, and they stated in an announcement on Monday that they are not pleased with the response given by the governing body.

Derek Ferguson questions why decisions keep going against Rangers

This is not the first time Rangers have called out the powers that be over some questionable decisions, although the outcome is pretty much always the same.

Willie Collum constantly comes under fire from Rangers, and so often for good reason as the level of officiating is at an all-time low.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, player-turned-pundit Ferguson pondered exactly why decisions keep going against the Gers in these big games.

“It’s a recurring theme and cannot be a coincidence. It just cannot keep happening like this,” he said. “There might be times in games where decisions go against you.

“But it just seems to have been a case of every big game over the past five or six years, Rangers don’t get the big decisions.

“That’s the frustration from the fans’ point of view and is why the club have to challenge this and make their feelings’ known. It’s not acceptable.

“Whether it’s the referee or VAR – and VAR is a lot of nonsense anyway in my opinion – it’s been ridiculous. It gets to you because you wonder why can’t they just get these decisions right?

“These are professionals. You have to wonder why it always goes against Rangers.”
