LATEST NEWS: Celtic confirm fixture change, now more breathing room after tough Champions League test

One of Celtic’s Scottish Premiership games scheduled for late October has been rescheduled as TV scheduling begins to take shape for a demanding few months of competition on all fronts.

After the international break, the Bhoys play Heart of Midlothian this next weekend. They will play Slovan Bratislava, Falkirk, St Johnstone, Borussia Dortmund, and Ross County in rapid succession before club football is put on hold once more.

The team led by Brendan Rodgers is getting ready for Champions League action, which will add a new dimension to the campaign with two extra matches in a Swiss-style format.

The quick turnaround in post-European matches will test squad depth for a team that isn’t expected to compete in the event until at least late January 2025.

But according to a recent fixture change update, Celtic will have a bit more breathing room after their away match against Atalanta on October 23.

Celtic given some leeway following a hard match against Atalanta

Celtic’s match against Motherwell, which was originally scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 26th, has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 27th at the same time. This move gives the Bhoys some breathing room following a test against the Europa League winners from the previous season.

The latest round of Sky Sports’ television picks will feature live coverage of the Fir Park trip, the network has revealed. The Hoops’ participation in the Champions League won’t have an effect on the games the following weekend.

Future live broadcasts are not anticipated to vary much, regardless of platform, unless they are scheduled for the new Thursday time.

Despite the fact that there will be another Sunday kickoff for fans to deal with, Celtic will get an extra day off after leaving Gewiss Stadium, which is a plus.

It should be noted that nothing has changed about the Bhoys’ home game versus Aberdeen on Saturday, October 19 at 3 pm, which is expected to spark excitement across the country given both teams’ strong beginnings to the season.
