During the hectic summer transfer window, Queens Park Rangers signed up to 10 players to join them at Loftus Road for the next campaign.
Marti Cifuentes has had an opportunity to make his imprint on the side after his first summer as the Hoops manager, as the team looks to uncover several undiscovered stars from around the continent.
Since there is still a lot of unsigned talent available, Rangers will need to consider free agents if they hope to bolster their roster between now and January. The transfer window closed at the end of the previous month.
In light of this, we chatted with Football League World analyst Louis Moir, a QPR supporter, to find out whether he has any eyes on any players in Europe who haven’t yet been signed.
Beka Alexis Beka may improve the midfield of Queens Park Rangers.
The R’s have won five of their first four Championship games; their lone setback of the year came on the first day of the campaign when they fell to West Bromwich Albion 3-1.
Their first win of the season came from a 2-1 victory against Luton Town in their last game before the international break. Summer hires Nicolas Madsen and Michael Frey scored goals to help them overcome the Hatters.
One of the players that entered over the summer was Danish midfielder Madsen, 24, who joined from Belgian team Westerlo to expand Cifuentes’ options in the middle.
The Spaniard has a lot of quality in the engine room right now with Madsen joining the likes of Sam Field, Jack Colback, Jonathan Varane, and others as alternatives in the center of the park, though Moir thinks there’s still room for one more.
After looking over every player now available on a free transfer—not only in England, but throughout all of Europe—the R’s supporter stated: “There are a few interesting players who may potentially fit in with the way we are recruiting right now.
“In the big scheme of things, there is just one player in France, a defensive midfielder named Alexis Beka Beka, who departed Nice in the summer.
“He appears to be a player who hasn’t been able to advance in his career due to a few personal issues, but if you look back, he has competed for France at the Olympics and at the youth level.”
Beka Alexis Beka is still a free agent following Nice’s release.
Although Beka Beka only appeared in 14 league games during his two-year relationship with Nice, which ended over the summer, he still has a lot of years ahead of him at the age of 23, as Moir points out.
The midfield player hasn’t really played in a professional match since June of last year because of a variety of personal problems that have kept him away from the field.
It is unclear if he still wants to pursue a career at this point, but having advanced through the young ranks of the French national team, Moir is certain that a player would still be available if his club were to take a chance on him.
“He looks like a player with potential, but it hasn’t really been unlocked yet,” he said. “We still have Sam Field and Jack Colback, and even though we signed Jonathan Varane and Nicolas Madsen, I think we could use another body in midfield.”
“Elijah DicksonGiven that Bonner isn’t ready at this level, Alexis Beka Beka would be a good fit for our current system. He has untapped potential, thus he’s a guy I find intriguing and worth keeping an eye on.
