Everton is thinking about trying to sign Elijah Adebayo.

Journalist Alan Nixon claims that Everton is thinking about trying to sign Elijah Adebayo of Luton Town.

During the 2022–2023 season, the 26-year-old assisted his team in getting promoted after moving to Kenilworth Road back in 2021. But the Hatters were unable to withstand relegation in the previous season and were immediately demoted to the Championship.

Despite this, Adebayo scored 10 goals in 16 starts during the Premier League season, showing glimmers of his goal-scoring prowess.

According to a recent Nixon post on Patreon, Everton is looking into possible replacements for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is about to enter the final year of his contract and hasn’t signed an extension. They have identified Adebayo as a viable alternative.

The reporter goes on to say that if the Toffees make money on Calvert-Lewin this winter, they may formally express interest in signing the Luton star in January.

To Everton, Adebayo

If Rob Edwards’ team decides to sell their best player, they aim to get between £15 and £20 million for him. If Everton matches this valuation, they will be able to sign him.

The Merseyside team has struggled to score goals this season; in three games, they have only managed to do so twice, both of which came against Bournemouth earlier in the season.

Hence, adding a new striker in January might be the best course of action to help Sean Dyche avoid relegation, and if they do decide to get Adebayo, it could be a wise move.

At 6 feet 4 inches tall, the Englishman possesses strength, agility, and good aerial ball control. He also puts in a lot of effort when he is not in possession of the ball. That means that he has all the qualities Dyche needs in a striker.

It would be intriguing to see, though, if the Merseyside club decides to take more decisive action to get his signature in the winter window.

In the meantime, Everton has dropped to the bottom of the Premier League standings after suffering three straight losses. After the international break, they will be eager to win their first league game of the season, but it won’t be simple because they play Aston Villa at Villa Park in their next league game.
