Goalkeeper Max Harris of Cheltenham Town is expected to get a contract with a National League South team after trying out for Bristol Rovers and Swindon Town, according to GloucestershireLive reporter Jon Palmer on X.
The stopper and Cheltenham Town will part ways. After placing in the bottom four of League One along with Fleetwood Town, Carlisle United, and Port Vale, they were demoted to League Two the previous season.

Although Harris, 24, still has one year remaining on his Gloucestershire team contract, which runs until June 2025, he is free to look for a new home during this transfer window.GloucestershireLive has revealed that Bristol Rovers chose not to sign him after taking a look at him, and Swindon Town had a look in training.

It’s not the worst idea for Harris to drop into non-league football since he needs to go somewhere where he can play regular football.
He probably wouldn’t have had much playing time for Bristol Rovers or Swindon Town.
Since 2020, Harris has been a member of the Cheltenham Town roster, supporting them in goal.
In addition to his four appearances for the Robins in all competitions thus far, he has also been on loan at Bath City, Redditch United, Weston-super-Mare, and Cinderford Town in order to gain experience.
The goalie began his career at Hereford before spending three years (2017–2020) at Oxford United.
It looks like his time at Cheltenham Town is almost up. They watched Darrell Clarke leave earlier this summer when Barnsley called, and Michael Flynn, a former resident of Newport County, Walsall, and Swindon Town, has now taken his place.
