4 former All-Stars the Boston Celtics should pursue this offseason

Numerous well-known NBA veterans are searching for their next, or first, chance to win a championship, perhaps with the Boston Celtics.

Andre Drummond was a two-time Detroit Pistons All-Star in the past. He has since played as a journeyman in the NBA, spending time with the Chicago Bulls, LA Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia Sixers. Drummond has established himself as one of the league’s better backup centers over his last several appearances.

Both Xavier Tillman and Luke Kornet are free agents, and neither player had more than a few possessions throughout the playoffs. At the tender age of thirty, Andre Drummond is coming off a season in which he participated in 79 of the Bulls’ 82 games, averaging eight points and nine rebounds on 56% shooting in just 17 minutes of action. The big guy is among the greatest rebounders of the modern age and an extremely underappreciated defender with fast hands.

Al Horford might only have one or two seasons left, but fewer minutes are required if the Celtics want to defeat him in June. Furthermore, you can’t rely on someone like Kristaps Porzingis to maintain his health. The C’s require a third huge that is more than adequate.
