Good things are said to come to those who are patient. One Rangers enthusiast, however, had to wait longer than others to fulfill his ambition of joining the Scottish Premiership’s biggest teams.

The transaction appeared to have fallen through at one point.

In the January transfer window of 2018, Rangers have committed to bring Jamie Murphy from Brighton and Hove Albion to his beloved Ibrox. But for at least a day, it appeared as though his long-held goal would be cruelly taken from him.

Looking back on the most suspenseful time of his career, Murphy characterizes his circumstances as nothing less than a “fiasco.”

Fortunately, a deal with Brighton would eventually be made and the move was finally finalized, albeit a little later than expected, partly due to the efforts of former Rangers director Mark Allen.
