Former Derby County academy product eyed by Europa League winners and two Premier League clubs

Derby County appears to be planning a complete midfield makeover after being promoted.

Derby County is scheduled to play in the Championship again the following season, though they will probably make several changes to the team that finished second in the third division.Midfielders Conor Hourihane, Korey Smith, and Max Bird have left the Rams, while Ebou Adams has returned to Cardiff City after a fruitful loan period.

Ben Osborn, a former academy standout who Sheffield United released at the end of the season, has already returned to the team.

The 29-year-old, who was cut by Derby after just one year, was perhaps the one that got away.

After that, he joined Nottingham Forest, a rival team, and then joined the Blades, where he was promoted to the Premier League.

In addition to being happy that Osborn was re-signed this summer, the Rams may also be seeing another academy product perform poorly in the Euro 2024 competition.
